Blog #1: Previous experience with research papers

My previous experience with research papers is probably no different than the average student.  High School stressed all forms of writing including research papers, with a more intense focus during my senior year.  The second half of senior English revolved solely around our senior projects.  These projects included school run events, job shadowing, or even creating art.  All this was done with the intention of researching aspects and or possibilities of our future careers.  My senior project involved shadowing an editor at the Erie Times News.  All of my shadowing culminated in a research paper paired with a presentation.  So as far as my previous experience with research papers, this stands out the most, on account of it making it painfully obvious that I never wanted to be a journalist.  Experiences with research papers of course continued into my first college the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.  However in general it curriculum is nothing to look fondly upon or even bring up as past experience.
